Beside a long-forgotten highway, a strange motel appears at night
and those who chance upon it should never step inside.

This rundown motel is a pit stop for all manner of ne'er-do-wells. Typically quiet but grungy, possibly cursed, and with a huge rat problem. Rooms are cheap and most folks know better than to come knocking. There's two floors (A is ground floor, B upstairs) with 30 rooms on each and a boiler room below. It boasts an indoor pool in an attached building (don't use if you haven't had your shots) and a balcony perfect for smoking on and keeping folks below awake with your plodding footsteps on the thin roof.Soma lives out of room A24 after cutting a deal with the absentee owner and now serves as a proxy for them. All concerns regarding Black Dog go through Soma. They likely fall on deaf ears, as he has no real power (nor much interest) for management or upkeep, and the owner is likely living it up in Nexus while their many properties - once bought to flip - now fall to ruin.Enjoy your stay! Etymology : from Greek σῶμα (söma = 'body').
Cytology : refers to the body of a cell, or the part of a neuron that contains the cell nucleus.
Myth : an intoxicating juice from a plant of disputed identity used in ancient India as an offering to the gods and as a drink of immortality by worshippers in Vedic ritual. (Sanskrit: सोम) connotes the Moon as well as a medicinal deity in post-Vedic Hindu mythology. Alternatively, it is the name of any medicinal concoction, or heaven and sky, or the name of certain places of pilgrimage.
Medicine : Soma (carisoprodol) a muscle relaxer that blocks pain between nerves and brain.Character Conception : Inspiration is rooted in my DIY spirituality and relationship with death. Visually, I pulled from Baphomet, Anubis, Black Shuck, demon mythology, sacred geometry, and the mammalian vascular system (thanks to a bad night on... allegedly synthetic mescaline). Soma fulfills my need for shadow work; expressing the darker sides of myself and of life. They are not evil, and do not believe in evil. They act in whatever way makes the most sense to them, same as all of us.
